The following work consists of a number of self-initiated projects. Each has given me the opportunity to play with lighting, with concept & with different themes not normally associated with commissioned jobs.
Fencing: The Beardmore sisters & Team GB candidates. Employing colour & shapes creating a surreal world to contrast this classic, considered sport.
Yebin Mok: Strip down the glitz & glam & using lighting to emphasise the physicality, as well as the natural beauty of a figure skater
Dancing On Ice Netherworld: I like finding contradictions and this project goes behind the scenes on one of ITV’s biggest & glitziest shows to look at some of the unseen, off-screen roles focusing on real people & real jobs in a rather surreal world.
EDSV Academy: With the increasing popularity & influence of the WSL I wanted to shoot the typical ‘walk-up’ shots I do for the men’s game adding more personality, positivity & colour to the woman’s game.
Building Blocks: A lockdown project, I wanted to create a fantasy set. Stripped down, kept simple, & with strong lighting I wanted to see what I could achieve. As a kid I’d draw imaginary cityscapes & this project kinda developed from there.
A Few of My Favorite Things: 1st Lockdown project. Still life is such a disciplined art & I really wanted to understand my lighting. I had the time & resources to shoot something & as I like strong graphic images, these are a reflection of that.
